Cherno Njie
Cherno is an almudo. He's eight years old and has never been to school. He's really bright - I think he could definitely end up going to college one day.

There is definitely a part of me that tends toward "feverish, selfish little clod," a hypochrondriac who hates to fly and wants to have every available luxury and promise of comfort. I try to distract that part with well-designed travel gadgets, coffee, and an IPOD full of 70's trucker songs. Then when she's busy sipping Nescafe from her special travel mug and singing "Convoy", I get on a plane to Africa and GO.
